Call to Action
The formula for change is an illusive one.
Determining the factors, conditions, and variables for instigating change can be vast and challenging. Especially within our current culture where we often mislabel a temporary reaction as a state of change.
Yet there’s one element in the theory of change that is heavily weighted-
A desire for change must be present. This means a willingness for disruption.
In our modern western world, this is missing-
We lack a desire for change. We lack a willingness for disruption.
We would rather live in the ‘safety and security’ and comfort of our consumer driven lives. We would rather feed ourselves mis-information so that we can continue these comfortable cycles. We would rather deny and ignore what is happening right now in the world around us than disrupt our social plans & schedules. We would rather distract ourselves with what to watch, what to buy & which celebrities are dating who than we would tune into what is really happening even within our own country.
Here’s an uncomfortable truth- you are not immune to the war, the chaos, the disruption that you’re ignoring around the world. If you feel safe in your home in the western world, you are not safe.
The bombs, the hunger, the desperation that millions of people are experiencing right now can reach you. And keep in mind that the millionaires who have been profiting off of your consumer purchases, your streaming, your social engagement are making their exit plans to space. This is reality in 2023. Not science fiction.
This is a call to action —
Change is only possible when there is a desire for change.
Ready but wondering where to start? As a first step, ask yourself:
How aware am I with what is happening beyond my local community?
Where do I get my information from? Family, friends, social?
How varied and diverse are these sources?
Why do I ‘trust’ these sources?
Growing up in the United States, we are taught that propaganda is a tool that foreign countries use to influence control over their people. I challenge you to consider the information being fed to you in present day through news, social media, public education, consumer driven marketing … and on and on.
I invite you to expand your awareness, vary your sources, challenge the perspectives being presented to you. And then find ways to activate.

Most importantly, keep challenging your comfort, your thoughts, your perspective.
