Wheel of Time
The Law of Conservation of Energy tells us that energy can neither be created nor destroyed.
Instead, energy can only change forms or transmute, and the total energy of an isolated system remains constant. We can primarily thank German physician and physicist Julius Robert von Mayer for identifying this principle back in 1842.
This idea fascinates me.
Especially when I relate it to the ancient philosophy of the Wheel of Time which is the belief that time doesn’t have a beginning and end but instead continues onward in a never ending cycle.
As I think about the current state of the world that we’re all living through at the moment, the principle of the Law of Conservation of Energy and the philosophy of the Wheel of Time have momentous significance.
What I gather from this is that in our lifetime, we have the ability to access information from the past, present, and future. And by tapping into this information, we can inform and influence our decision making as a path to change for good.
I think of information as energy and believe that if energy can neither be created nor destroyed, then all versions of ourselves, past, present, and future, can be accessed at any moment in time.
Now I hear you. If this is true, then why do we make bad decisions? Or why don’t we just completely predict the future? Well, we’re all just humans fumbling our way around on this planet, and we’re quite susceptible, or easily influenced, at emotional, physical and psychological levels.
Every met someone in love or lust? We have all kinds of chemicals pulsing through our minds and bodies under those emotional conditions which can either propel us to save the day or persuade us to make some really awful decisions.
As I think about the state of the world and this idea that time continues on forever, cycling through periods of both creation and destruction, it seems to me that the actions we take today and the decisions that we make are more critical than ever.
We’re at one of the greatest inflection points that human kind has ever witnessed.
We’re living through one of the most challenging periods of human history.
Our planet is demonstrating how exhausted she is from carrying the burden of our human demands for water, air, energy, and land. We see this in flooding, drought, earthquakes, and fires.
People are in great conflict around the world and yet are wishing for a state of living that is peaceful, loving, and free. We see this in the unnecessary wars around the world including wars in Ukraine and Iran as well as in the conflicts breaking out across the United States as we rally against ICE and other extremisms within our own government.
So I ask to us consider, what cycle do we wish to move the Wheel of Time towards? Creation or destruction? What learning can we apply from the version of ourselves in the future that we wish to bring to life to the decisions that we make today? What knowledge have we gained from our past that we can bring forth to inspire us to make better choices right here, right now?
Collectively we have painful but informative lessons such as Slavery and the United States Civil War, the Holocaust and the World Wars, Segregation and Civil Rights all in our rear view mirror.
What have we learned from these challenging human experiences? What do we know to be true?
For me, it’s clear. I want a future of creation. I want to see our planet thriving so that she can continue to sustain life. I want to see people happy, healthy, and free and living in a state of great abundance.
Right now in the United States we’re in an election cycle for our Congressional representatives. And just two years from now, we’ll be watching the campaign for the next President of the United States. I ask us to come together as people united in the healthy, happy, abundant future that we collectively want for ourselves, our children, and our brothers and sisters around the world.
Let us tap into the energy and information from our past, present, and future to help us make the best choices possible today and each day that follows to bring us closer to a collective state of thrive. We deserve it. And so does the next generation, and the next generation, and on and on.
